Nebraska Man Convicted in Federal Court for Fentanyl Distribution Conspiracy

Aki Awou from Omaha, Nebraska, was convicted by a jury in federal court for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and two counts of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

Awou mailed packages containing thousands of fentanyl pills disguised as oxycodone to his partner, Karem Bol, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Bol, who pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including possession of firearms by a drug user, was involved in receiving and distributing the pills.

The Omaha Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, intercepted the packages and executed search warrants that led to the arrests of both individuals.

Both men face significant prison sentences, fines, and supervised release.
