The USDA says planting progressed in Ohio last week despite some concerns about dryness.
Topsoil moisture is rated 45 percent very short to short and subsoil moisture is rated 29 percent very short to short.
Eighty-nine percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, 54 percent of the crop has emerged, and 81 percent is rated good to excellent.
Soybean planting is 87 percent complete. Forty-five percent of the crop has emerged and is rated 81 percent good to excellent.
