A near-seasonal pattern of warmth, rainfall ahead for much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in the upper Great Lakes region.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal rainfall across many parts of the country, including an area stretching from the northern and central Plains to the Atlantic Coast, should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in the south-central U.S., Great Basin, northern Intermountain West, and interior Northwest.
