A wide-ranging temperature pattern to fuel stormy weather next week across the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for above-normal temperatures across the eastern half of the U.S., while colder-than-normal conditions will cover an area stretching from the Pacific Coast to the High Plains.

Meanwhile, below-normal precipitation in parts of western Texas and southeastern New Mexico should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather across much of the remainder of the country, with the greatest likelihood of wet conditions in the Midwest.
