The National Pork Board and Nestle are partnering to help pork producers adopt climate-smart agriculture practices.
NPB chief sustainability officer Jamie Burr says the Advancing U.S. Pork Sustainability grant program supports continued efforts to reduce the industry’s greenhouse gas footprint.
“And it starts with an on-farm report that provides producers with their environmental footprint, and then provides them with a report that depicts their opportunities around reductions. And then provides grant dollars for them to implement practices that reduce their outcomes.”
Nestle global sustainable sourcing lead Daniel Peerless tells Brownfield the company is providing $10 million toward the grant and considers itself a downstream supply chain beneficiary.
