Milk futures were all higher and the cash dairy markets were mixed Thursday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
February Class III milk was up $0.28 at $15.86. March was up $0.29 at $16.15. April was up $0.14 at $16.57. May was up $0.04 at $17.13.
June through December contracts ranged from unchanged in November and December to thirteen cents higher in June. Thursday’s trade volume was estimated at just over twenty-four hundred contracts.
Dry whey was unchanged at $0.4425. Two sales were recorded at that price.
Forty-pound cheese blocks were up $0.0225 at $1.5225. Four sales were recorded, ranging from $1.52 to $1.5225.
Cheese barrels were down $0.0175 at $1.44. Two sales were recorded at $1.4250 and $1.44.
Butter was up $0.11 at $2.6875. No sales were recorded.
Nonfat dry milk was up $0.01 at $1.2025. Two sales were recorded at $1.20 and $1.2025.
