Colder, more seasonal temps ahead for the Heartland; moisture returns to West & Plains

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures and precipitation across much of the country.  Warmer-than-normal weather will be confined to the upper Midwest, northern Maine, and portions of the Pacific Coast States.

Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal conditions should be limited to the northern High Plains, California, and the nation’s southern tier from the Desert Southwest to Florida’s peninsula.
