Countries unite to keep ASF out of Western Hemisphere

There’s a global effort to prevent the introduction of
African swine fever to the Western Hemisphere.

American Veterinary Medical Association president Dr. John Howe says he recently met with officials from the Canadian, Mexican, and Pan American Veterinary Associations in Yucatan.

“And one big thing we discussed was working together and creating scenarios of how to treat this and prevent it from getting to this part of the world.”

African swine fever continues to spread throughout Asia and
Eastern Europe.
