Global Dairy Trade index holds steady 

The Global Dairy Trade index held steady Tuesday as the market saw gains in anhydrous milk fat, lactose, and whole milk powder balance losses in butter, Cheddar cheese, and skim milk powder. 

Lactose prices were up 6.4% to $750 per metric ton, or $0.34 per pound. 

Whole milk powder was up 1.9% to $3,027 per metric ton, or $1.37 per pound. 

Anhydrous milk fat prices were up nine-tenths of a percent to $5,544 per metric ton, or $2.51 per pound. 

Butter was down 1.1% to $4,833 per metric ton, or $2.19 per pound. 

Skim milk powder fell 3.8% to $2,622 per ton, or $1.18 per pound. 

Cheddar cheese had the biggest decline, down 9.7% to $3,637 per metric ton, or $1.64 per pound.
