Governor Parson asks for federal disaster declaration

Governor Mike Parson has asked President Trump to approve a

disaster declaration for 13 Missouri counties so they can get federal

assistance for flood recovery. The Governor says he expects the request to be

expanded to include additional counties once full damage assessments can be made.

Governor Parson says preliminary infrastructure damage assessments have already

reached $25 million. Agriculture disaster requests are made after federal

disaster declarations are made.

The counties are situated along the Missouri River in Northwest Missouri and

along the Mississippi River in Southeast Missouri.
