Gray wolf frustrations aired at Cattle Industry Convention

Concerns about wolf attacks on livestock are being

expressed at the Cattle Industry Convention in New Orleans.

Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association director Ashley Kohls says she’s frustrated by the lack of progress in getting the gray wolf removed from the Endangered Species List.

“It feels like we’re two steps forward, one step back, like we’re always on the cusp of having something happen. So the states in the Great Lakes region are continually talking to our state legislators, but there are some folks in the western regions now who are having increased populations of wolves that are now kind of joining onto our narrative.”

She tells Brownfield efforts to delist the wolf have been repeatedly thwarted by Congress.
