A mostly-dry week gave Minnesota farmers an opportunity to harvest small grains, hay, and corn for silage.
USDA reporters say 87% of Minnesota’s corn has reached the dough stage, about a week ahead of average. Thirty-three percent of the corn is in dent stage, with 45% of the crop reported as good to excellent. Five percent of the silage corn has been chopped.
Ninety-two percent of the soybean crop was setting pods as of Sunday, with 10% turning color.
