Live cattle higher to start the week

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle were mixed, and feeders were lower ahead of the week’s direct cash business and Friday’s On Feed numbers.  February live cattle closed $.27 higher at $156.05 and April lives closed $.22 higher at $159.92.  January feeders closed $1.67 lower at $182.10 and March feeders closed $.90 lower at $183.80.

Direct cash cattle trade activity was quiet to start the week.  Showlists are mixed – larger in Kansas, but smaller in Texas, and Nebraska/Colorado.
