Wet soil conditions continue to keep planting in Michigan well behind normal even after last week’s warm up. USDA says 89 percent of oats, 63 percent of corn and 45 percent soybeans are now planted and all behind average. Dry bean planting just started. Alfalfa first cutting is only 20 percent complete compared to the five-year average of 48 percent. Winter wheat condition is42 percent good to excellent and 88 percent of the crop is jointed.
