A new survey indicates about 40 percent of Minnesota dairy
farms struggled to secure financing for this year.
Minnesota Milk executive director Lucas Sjostrum says the Association recently sent questionnaires to its members to pinpoint how the dairy crisis is affecting their farms.
“For 40 percent to say they can’t get financing, or the terms are unreasonable, as of two weeks ago, that’s a really scary situation.”
He tells Brownfield if you extrapolate that across all Minnesota dairies, it’s roughly 1,200 farms.
