MO Corn Growers want eminent domain bill passed in state legislature

The executive director of Missouri Corn says the state’s corn growers support a bill to protect farmers against the use of eminent domain to build solar or wind farms.

Bradley Schad tells Brownfield “These aren’t farms, they’re a producing company and right now they would have legal rights that if they put a few energy panels next to another farmer’s field, they’d have the ability to go to the Missouri Public Service Commission to ask for the right to use eminent domain to take that farmer’s land away.”

Schad says food is just as important as energy.
