A new egg processing facility will replace a Tyson Foods poultry processing plant that closed last year in southeast Missouri.
Cal-Maine Foods is the world’s largest egg producer and Missouri’s Agriculture Director Chris Chinn says the company plans to partner with former Tyson poultry growers.
“We’re excited about that.”
Cal-Maine says the new facility in Dexter will include a chick hatchery, feed mill and maintenance breeder flocks in addition to the production, processing, packaging and distribution of shell eggs.
