Face
to face meetings with National Farmers Union members and lawmakers in D.C. take
place next week for the NFU annual fly in.
Rob Larew, NFU public policy director, tells Brownfield Ag News top of mind is the trade war with China, and other trade issues, “The trade war and the implications of that is just driving everything. We have such a surplus of grain right now, obviously, a surplus of dairy. All of these prices are down so all of this trade pressure is keeping these markets really low.”
Larew says their members are very motivated by all the struggles they are facing and encouraged to tell their stories, “We always encourage our members as they talk about issues to talk to them in the most impactful way which is to tell their personal stories and what this means for their bottom line.
