House Ag Committee Ranking Member Collin Peterson is praising his Senate counterparts for putting together a bipartisan farm bill.
The Minnesota Democrat tells Brownfield success in the Senate could put pressure on House Republicans who continue pushing for SNAP reform.
“It kind of smokes out their strategy and ideology, they’re going to be isolated. And there’s going to be questions in some of these states where the Republican Senators support this and why aren’t the Republican House members being reasonable?”
Peterson says in the aftermath of the House farm bill being voted down, he talked to Senate Ag Committee Chair Pat Roberts about Mike Conaway insisting on changing work requirements in the nutrition program.
