Wisconsin’s
Ag Secretary Designee is getting support from the state’s agriculture community
as the State Senate’s top Republican calls for his replacement.
Senator Scott Fitzgerald has asked Democratic Governor Tony Evers to withdraw his nomination of Brad Pfaff to lead the department saying he doesn’t have the votes to confirm him.
Executive
Director Tom Bressner with the Wisconsin Agri-Business Association says Brad
Pfaff needs to stay on the job. “He has
been totally supportive, and he just works diligently for agriculture, and we’ve
been very pleased and very impressed with the work that he’s been doing and so
it just makes total sense to us.”
Doug Rebout with
Wisconsin Corn Growers Association agrees.
He tells Brownfield, “I have not seen any reason or any of the things he’s
done that would warrant, in my opinion, him not being confirmed. This is politics. Everything he does, are we going to agree
with it? Everything the department does?
