Purdue announces it is leading $10 million effort to address food safety

Purdue University is now home to a lab designed to increase awareness and develop environments for food safety around the world.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded $10 million to Purdue to establish the first-ever Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Safety. There is an opportunity for up to $20 million in more funding from USAID. 

Haley Oliver, an associate professor

of food science, will direct the lab in collaboration with Cornell University.
