Rains help Kentucky crops, but create opportunity for disease

Above-normal precipitation has helped crops in the final stages of development, but has opened the door for some disease pressure.

Corn is rated 73% good to excellent with 60% in the dough stage and 38% in dent.  Soybeans are rated 74% good to excellent with 75% blooming and 60% setting pods.  Tobacco set is rated 72% good to excellent with 75% blooming, 55% topped, and 5% cut.

Pastures are rated 69% good to excellent. 

Topsoil is 83% and subsoil is 82% adequate to surplus.
