One of the principal architects of the 2018 Farm Bill says the conservation title strengthens water quality initiatives across the country.
During a conference call with reporters Wednesday, Senate Ag Committee Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow touted improvements to regional partnerships established in the last farm bill.
“It’s worked so well that we actually have created additional dollars that will triple the amount dollars available for water conservation, which is very, very important.”
The Michigan Democrat says among other things, the farm bill will also bolster rural development.
