Unseasonably mild across the Heartland; widespread drought relief ahead for most

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for warmer-than-normal weather nationwide, with the Mississippi Delta and Tennessee Valley having the greatest likelihood of experiencing above-normal temperatures.  Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal conditions across much of the U.S. should contrast with near- or below-normal precipitation in California, the western Great Basin, and portions of the Atlantic Coast States.
