Unseasonably mild pattern continues for most of the Heartland; a short-term drier period ahead

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of warmer-than-normal weather nationwide, except for near- or below normal temperatures from the western Gulf Coast region to the southern Atlantic States. 

Meanwhile, drier-than-normal conditions across much of the central and eastern U.S. should contrast with near- or above-normal precipitation from the Pacific Coast to the Rockies.
