A crop farmer and custom harvester says making hay has been tough because of this year’s weather patterns.
Zeb Zuehls makes large bales for clients in central Wisconsin and says the hay he cut last Wednesday was almost dry enough to bring in three times but is almost charcoal black now. “What was two thousand dollars worth of hay to be sold in the field is basically a fat zero now.”
Zuehls says by this time, his two balers usually have between six and eight thousand bales produced for his customers.
