Wisconsin field work underway in south and central parts of the state

Farmers in parts of Wisconsin are getting some field work done, but much of the state is still too cold or wet to make progress.

USDA reporters say corn and oats planting has begun in the hills of Vernon County in southwestern Wisconsin, and in southern and southeastern counties of Ozaukee, Washington, and Green counties.  The central sands region including much of Marquette, Waushara, Portage, Wood, Adams and Juneau Counties had field work start last week, and conditions are allowing most of those farmers to go full steam ahead into field work this week.
