Wisconsin fieldwork very limited last week

Widespread precipitation and colder temperatures continued to keep Wisconsin farmers out of their fields last week.

USDA statistician Greg Bussler says the state had just under two days suitable for fieldwork.

Barely any of Wisconsin’s soybeans and just 1% of the state’s corn has been planted.

Potato planting is now 13% finished, which is a day behind average.

Seventy-four percent of the winter wheat is in good to excellent condition, up 9% from a week ago.
