A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred at Arrowhead Parkway and Veterans Parkway in eastern Sioux Falls, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old motorcyclist, Jonathan Paulsness.
The collision occurred on Saturday when a 2011 Lincoln Navigator turned in front of the westbound motorcycle, causing the rider to hit the side of the vehicle and be thrown off.
The driver of the Lincoln Navigator, 37-year-old Anthony Surdez from Brandon, initially stopped briefly but then fled the scene.
Brandon police later located the driver and arrested him for DWI Second and Hit and Run.
The charge of Vehicular Homicide will be added when he appears in court.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials are yet to determine the traffic light conditions at the time of the crash.
