Gas Prices in South Dakota Dip, National Average Remains Steady Amid OPEC+ Volatility

Gasoline prices in South Dakota have decreased by 5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.05/gallon.

This is 25 cents lower than a month ago and 15 cents lower than a year ago.

The national average price of diesel has fallen by 4 cents to $4.18 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest station in South Dakota was priced at $2.61/gallon, while the most expensive was $3.69/gallon.

Nationally, the average gasoline price has only slightly decreased by 0.4 cents per gallon over the past week, currently standing at $3.21/gallon.

Despite 11 consecutive weeks of declining national averages, regional variations persist.

The recent OPEC+ meeting, which initially caused oil prices to rise and then fall, contributed to the volatility in gas prices. Despite OPEC+ agreeing to deepen production cuts, concerns about falling global demand have pushed oil prices down, offering hope that the national average could fall to $2.99/gallon by the end of the year.
