Law enforcement in Pierre is continuing to investigate the death of a woman named Eve Ashtin, found in a South Brule Street apartment complex.
Officers responded to a disturbance on Thursday night and discovered the body.
The cause of death is under investigation, and a person of interest has been detained.
The Pierre Police Department, assisted by the Division of Criminal Investigation and South Dakota Highway Patrol, continues to examine the scene, with evidence tape covering the apartment windows.
The identity of the person of interest has not been disclosed.
