In Hamlin County, a passerby’s discovery of a partially submerged vehicle led to the charging of a juvenile for failure to report a crash and reckless driving.
The Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Monday morning call about the incident, where the vehicle had run off the road into a lake.
Despite initial uncertainty about occupants, responders learned the crash occurred Sunday night, and the driver, found unharmed, faced charges.
County Road 452 briefly closed for vehicle recovery, and the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
