Man Arrested After Weapons Violation at Sioux Falls Walmart

A 37-year-old man in Sioux Falls was arrested for a weapons violation at a local Walmart early Saturday evening around 5:30 pm.

The incident began with the man shoplifting, and when confronted by law enforcement, he retaliated by grabbing a broom and causing damage.

An employee was hit during the altercation but did not sustain serious injuries.

The suspect faces charges including aggravated assault, intentional damage to property, third-degree vacate, and resisting arrest.
