A 24-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot during a fight outside a Marathon gas station in Sioux Falls early Tuesday morning.
Police say the altercation, involving three men, occurred around 1 a.m. on South Minnesota Avenue. One of the men pulled a gun and shot the victim in the back before fleeing the scene.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and witness statements, but no arrests have been made.
Police warn the incident appears to have been random, raising public safety concerns.
