MITCHELL — Mitchell High School and Second Chance High students who need assistance with school supplies for the 2026-27 school year can now apply through the MSD Caring Closet program.
Students or families can complete an online request form to reserve a school supply packet. Requests submitted by July 24 will have supply packets available for pickup during Mitchell High School registration on Aug. 5.
Requests received after the deadline will be filled, while supplies last, and distributed during MSD Caring Closet Back-to-School Pop-Up events on July 31, Aug. 1 and Aug. 12.
Each supply packet includes basic classroom items such as notebooks, folders, loose-leaf paper, pencils, pens, highlighters, a ruler, erasers, a pencil sharpener, hand sanitizer and travel-size facial tissues. Students who need additional supplies after the school year begins may request them through the Mitchell High School Guidance Office.
The school said the program is supported by community donations and made possible through volunteers with the MSD Caring Closet and assistance from Mitchell High School staff.
The assistance program is available only to Mitchell High School and Second Chance High students. Families with children in preschool through eighth grade are encouraged to contact Love Feast of Mitchell for elementary and middle school supply distribution.
