In eastern Sioux Falls on Friday, a moped accident occurred at the intersection of 18th and Sycamore involving a 24-year-old woman, Laura Arrowwood, who was operating the moped with a 4-year-old child on her lap.
The moped lost control and crashed after hitting a patch of gravel while switching lanes.
Both the woman and the child sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital, but they have since been released.
Arrowwood now faces charges, including Abuse/Cruelty to a Minor under 7, a Minor Riding on a Motorcycle Without a Helmet, and Rider Interference with Control or View of Motorcycle Operator.
