Sanford Health has announced a merger with Lewis Drug, set to take effect in fall 2025.
Lewis Drug, a pharmacy and retail chain with over 60 locations across South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota, will maintain its name and leadership team under the new ownership.
The merger builds on a long-standing partnership between the two organizations, which includes co-located clinics and joint pharmacy services.
Approximately 1,500 Lewis Drug employees, including 188 pharmacists, will join the Sanford Health workforce.
Sanford Health CEO Bill Gassen and Lewis Drug CEO Mark Griffin emphasized the merger’s foundation of trust and shared community values.
