Sioux Falls Man Charged with Triple Murder Following Chaotic Early Morning Shooting

A 30-year-old Sioux Falls man, Justin Cody Rackley, is in the Minnehaha County Jail facing three counts of first-degree murder in connection with an early morning shooting on Saturday in southwest Sioux Falls.

The incident, which took place near the intersection of South Drexel Drive and 58th Street, resulted in the deaths of three individuals.

According to Sioux Falls Police Lt. Aaron Nyberg, officers found three victims, Daniel Carl Kemnitz, 43, Kellie Elizabeth Reaves, 43, and Michael Andrew Thompson, 34, dead from gunshot wounds.

The chaotic scene required officers to remain at the location well into the evening hours to process evidence. Additionally, two other individuals were injured.

A handgun was recovered at the scene, and police are still determining the number of shots fired.

The shooting occurred during a gathering, but police do not believe drugs were involved, though alcohol consumption was noted.
