Sioux Falls Woman Sentenced to 10 Years in Federal Prison for Meth Conspiracy

Marissa Apodaca from Sioux Falls was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for her involvement in a methamphetamine conspiracy.

She was one of 24 co-conspirators, with 14 of them from South Dakota. Apodaca pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.

In addition to her prison sentence, she was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund and undergo five years of supervised release.

The conspiracy involved distributing 500 grams or more of methamphetamine in South Dakota and elsewhere.

The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration with assistance from several other law enforcement agencies.
