Whittier Middle School Staff Member Arrested for Solicitation of a Minor

A staff member from Whittier Middle School in Sioux Falls, Justin Preuschl, was arrested at his home on March 21 on a charge of solicitation of a minor.

The arrest occurred before the school day began, and the school district assured parents that there is no indication the charges are related to a school incident.

The 27-year-old Preuschl, a social studies teacher, was immediately placed on leave pending further legal proceedings.

The Sioux Falls School District emphasized that the safety of students and staff is their highest priority and stated that rigorous background checks are conducted before employment.

The district is cooperating with law enforcement and is focused on providing the best education to students.
