A convoy of green and yellow farm implements rolled into Mitchell Technical College Thursday as part of a donation by C&B Operations of Mitchell. It included eight tractors, a loader, a baler, compact excavator, a skid steer, nutrient applicator, pay loader, combine, sprayer and a Gator.
MTC president Mark Wilson says the donation benefits the whole spectrum of the college. “The technology on the AG side and Precision AG and within the Agronomy program, what a great opportunity for our students,” Wilson said.
C&B General manager Corey Thelen says the partnership helps them as well. “Some of these students coming out kind of had a leg up on some of the competition with what they’ve known, what they’ve worked with,” said Thelen.
This is the fourth year C&B is providing equipment to MTC with no or low-cost leases. The retail sale value of the equipment is $4.7-million dollars.
