A Perfect Pre-Sturgis Party

A long line of motorcycles traveled down the middle of Main Street as the Pre-Sturgis Party roared to life.

Brian Klock of Mitchell proudly led the procession. “Everybody’s watching out for us and everybody’s out here right now (0:04) just raising their arm going, yeah, you know what, I love Mitchell, I’m proud of Mitchell,” said Klock. “And it makes all these people from Florida to Texas to New York City as excited as they are about Mitchell.”

He’s grateful how the community and various agencies come together this time every year. “And I don’t know how I could thank the people of Mitchell, the chamber, the police department, all the volunteers, the guys at the Corn Palace, like, I mean the list goes on and on,” Klock said.

Visitors were treated to local cuisine, motorcycle-related entertainment and live music with something for everyone.

For many, next stop is the 85th Anniversary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Races which opens Friday afternoon in downtown Sturgis.
