The ACT exams set for Mitchell Senior High on Saturday are going on as planned. Counselor Erin Fowkes is expecting 127 students. The students should arrive no later than eight o’clock Saturday morning. “That’s when the kids need to be there at the very latest,” said Fowkes. “They can certainly come earlier. We do have to keep them socially distant at least six-feet apart.”
Students must have their access ticket to the exam and should make sure they’re in the correct location, meaning Mitchell Senior High. “They will come in the front door,” Fowkes said. “They will have to fill out a form about their feeling and health that morning.” Student’s temperatures will also be taken before they report to Fowkes who will check their I-D’s.
They’ll be assigned to a room that will have a maximum of ten students to maintain social distancing. Fowkes says the students will remain in the assigned rooms during breaks and not allowed to congregate elsewhere.
The exam proctors will wear masks and gloves. Fowkes is encouraging students to wear masks if they’re able.
She says students should check their access ticket before arriving for Saturday’s exam and try to relax.
