Bomb threat hoax at Mitchell Walmart

The Mitchell Walmart store was the target of a hoax bomb threat on Friday. Mitchell Police were notified by a store employee around 12:39 pm they received a call from someone claiming there was a bomb in the store.  The Mitchell Police Department, Davison County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, and Mitchell Fire and /EMS responded immediately. Store management had started evacuating the store. Law enforcement checked the store and it was found to be a prank call.  Law Enforcement is working to identify the source of the call but it appears to have originated outside the Mitchell area.
