Bomb threat prompts evacuation of the Davison County Public Safety building

No one was hurt after a bomb threat was telephoned to the Davison County Jail Tuesday morning. Chief Deputy Steve Harr says the call came in at 8:49.  The caller stated a bomb was planted in the second-floor courtroom in the public safety building. “We immediately evacuated the entire building,” said Harr. “Followed by about a 45 minute search of the building.”

No explosive device was found. He says the building was then re-opened. “We had court going on in that courtroom, so we proceeded to allow people back into the courtroom and everything progressed and day proceeded normal,” Harr said.

Harr says the investigation is still open and anyone with information regarding who’s responsible for the threat is asked to call the Davison County Sheriff’s Office at 995-8630.
