Mitchell School Board member Lacey Musick decides against seeking re-election

Mitchell School Board member Lacey Musick is no longer seeking re-election. Musick said in an email that she and her husband Kyle decided to relocate their family to Colorado this summer. Musick went on to say she and her husband began discussing the option at the end of February and decided this week, following discussion with their children, it was the right decision for their family at this time.

Musick and her husband have lived in Mitchell all their lives and while they enjoyed their time in the community as a family, they’re excited for a new adventure.

She said, in her words, “one of my greatest honors has been serving the Mitchell community as a member of the Mitchell Board of Education.”

Musick plans to continue serving until her term expires.

There are two open school board seats up for election in June. Currently Shawn Ruml, Dwight Stadler and Debra Emme are the only candidates on the ballot.

The deadline for submitting nominating petitions is March 30th.
