The South Dakota Department of Education is working through mandatory reviews on Education Standards.
The Board of Education Standards met recently in Aberdeen with the main focus on Career and Technical Education.
CTE Director Amy Miller says her department revised all CTE sectors with the future careers of all students in mind.
“CTE is a very important section of courses for every single South Dakota student,” said Miller. “It is a separate track for only select students. We offer meaningful opportunities for all students to discover their passion, build real-world skills, and explore careers.”
The Standards Board will meet again in November to review last year’s test results to measure the effectiveness of state content standards.
