The 196 strong Mitchell High School Class of 2026 gathered for a final time Sunday to celebrate the completion of their high school education.
Mitchell High School Principal Justin Siemsen says this is the first class to graduate from the new high school building. “There was a lot of transition, people getting accustomed to the size of the building, navigating the building,” said Siemsen. “And as we moved through the year, it did get easier, and I think the students appreciated all of the nuances of the new building.”
He offered some parting thoughts to the new graduates. “To chase your dreams and not be afraid, to challenge yourself and excel, and take everything that comes to you in stride, and always be mindful of those who have helped you along the way,” Siemsen said.
The class included 61 honor students and 18 students earning highest honors.
On a side note, Siemsen presented a diploma to his daughter Addison, Superintendent Joe Childs presented his daughter Madelyn with her diploma, Ethan Lofgren received his diploma from his mother, School Board Member Kim Lofgren and Brayden Reindl received his diploma from his father, High School Assistant Principal Bobby Reindl.
