Davison County Commissioners set wages for 2026

Davison County commissioners hit the re-set button during Tuesday’s meeting.

The group unanimously re-elected Randy Reider as chairman and Mike Blaalid vice-chairman.

Chairman Randy Reider started the wage discussion. “ I’m going to suggest 4%,” said Reider. “So there, across everybody, 4%. And then any other, if there’s any other differences that somebody gets something extra, then we address that.”

His fellow commissioners concurred and approved the wage plan on a 5-0 vote.

The raise also applies to elected officials and other contracted employees.

In other business, commissioners approved the juvenile detention contract with Beadle County, declared a vehicle from the Sheriff’s Office surplus and conducted a mandatory review of the South Dakota Open Meetings Law.
