SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Randy Rosenquist Jr. has been named the GPAC’s Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week and Shalayne Nagel has been named Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week following stout performances in two wins for both teams.
Rosenquist Jr. posted 14 total rebounds, 12 assists, nine steals, and a block between two wins for DWU Men’s Basketball against Bismarck State and Midland. He led the team in boards in the GPAC contest, recording eight overall, while posting eight assists, seven steals, and six rebounds against the Mystics. This marks Rosenquist’s second Defensive Player of the Week award.
Nagel made a major impact defensively in both wins for the 10th-ranked DWU Women’s Basketball team, including a tied season-high of three blocks, three rebounds, and two steals against Northwestern. She grabbed six boards, five assists, and two more steals against Midland later in the week.
